t Alepohori we meet the exceptional post-Byzantine temple of Agios Athanasios of 1729. It is full of wall paintings of fine art and has a modern fretwork temple. On the south wall, the following caption can be made out: "Prayer of the slave / of God painter / pilgrim to the holly grave by the village Ortakioi". .
